This means that you'll be up and running in no time at all.
I'm going to begin by opening up my Computer.
Now whether you're installing Torq from a DVD like this,
or whether you've downloaded the full installer,
or the demo installer, once you've extracted these files the procedure is the same for both.
As i'm already extracting I'm going to use the downloaded files.
These include the EXE itself, as well as some license free music to get you going.
There's drivers folder containing software for the Xponent,
and the Connectiv.
As well as a documentation folder for the
hardware, and Torq itself.
Okay, let's install Torq.
Double-click the Torq 2.0 EXE and choose a language.
Once you click next the welcome screen will appear.
Take a moment to read the software license agreement and then agree to the terms.
Verify where Torq is being installed,
and check the option to create a shortcut on the desktop.
You're now ready to Install Torq.
The installer will then begin to write the files to your hard drive.
It'll only take a few seconds, but once it's completed click finish and you're done.
You might want to take a few moments to clean up your workspace by closing any windows that
are still open.
You're now ready to launch Torq.
Now the first time you launch Torq 2.0
you'll have to activate the software.
Click the Next button to start the Activation process.
Now if you have an internet connection and you've purchesed Torq, or a Torq upgrade,
then internet activation is what you want.
Enter the serial number that you received via email.
The serial number is twenty five characters,
all caps, and all letters,
while the system ID consists of only numbers.
Click next when you're finished.
Now if the computer that you're using is not connected to the internet, then use Manual activation.
You'll need to make note of your Machine ID,
and using another computer go to activate.avid.com
Enter the serial ID,
Serial Number and your Machine ID
to activate and retrieve your activation key.
Enter that into Torq and hit Next.
You can also call and retrieve an activation key via phone support.
Now if you just can't wait to get your hands on Torq 2.0, you can always activate
the thirty day trial. Nice!
Next up is the setup assistant. Now if you're a bit of a novice or just new to Torq then
maybe the automatic setup is better for you. Clicking Next will give you a summary
of how Torq has configured your system.
Including your music and your iTunes library.
Click next and you're ready to start using Torq.
However, if you want to go through and be a little bit more particular
about your setup you can choose manual setup. let me show you.
First up is your audio driver type, Direct sound, or ASIO, and then the audio device itself.
Now remember that DJ's usually prefer to have an extra set of outputs
for using the headphone CUE Mix
As the Xponent has one and it's installed i'm gonna choose it.
Next is Mixer mode, do we let Torq do all the mixing internally
or do we have a hardware mixer.
Next up is Deck Mode.
Torq 2.0 now features up to four decks simultaneously
A and B on the left side,
and Deck C and D on the right hand side.
Now I'm going to use Two Deck Mode,
more conventional but now you can see that we have just one Deck on either side.
Next up are your MIDI Ports, On or Off.
The Xponent has two ports, the USB port
and its own IN and OUT port.
Now for your music setup. By default Torq uses the music folder for the current user,
but you can change it to anything you like.
Next, iTunes setup.
Again Torq looks to your default iTunes library,
and that's it!
you'll now get a summary of all of your changes
and your system is now configured and you're ready to start using Torq.
Now if while running the trial version you purchase a copy of Torq,
you can get back to the activation screen
from the Preferences.
You can see that the trial is active,
but when we entered the serial number, and our system ID

The outer most region of the eye is the cornea, light passes through the cornea first. The iris in eagles appears yellow and functions similarly to the iris in humans. The iris contracts and dilates to control the amount of light the received by the retina. An eagle's retina allows for a higher Nyquist limit.[5] Its retina is more pronounced with rod cells and cone cells. In the eagle, the retina's fovea has one million cells per mm2 as compared to 200,000 per mm2 in humans. Eagles have large eyes that take up half of their skull. A large portion of the eagle's skull is dedicated to sight because it is essential for their survival. Eagles eyes are flat and wide toward the back to maximize the image that is formed within the eye. At the back of the eye there’s a layer of photoreceptor cells (rods and cones) called the retina that transmit visual information to the brain. Eagles have a deep central fovea and a shallow temporal fovea that function for better visual acuity and higher resolution of sight. 'The line of sight of the deep fovea points forwards and approximately 45 degrees to the right or left of the head axis, while that of the shallow fovea also points forwards but approximately 15 degrees to the right or left of the head axis.'[6]
Eagles have a highly developed sense of sight which allows them to easily spot prey. Eagles have excellent 20/5 vision compared to an average human who only has 20/20 vison. This means Eagles can see things from 20 feet away that we can only see from 5 feet away. Beginning with their cranial structure, eagles have fixed eye sockets that are 'angled 30 degrees from the midline of their face.'[7] Giving eagles a '340-degree visual field' [7] that allows for both excellent peripheral and binocular vision. An eagle in flight can reputedly sight a rabbit two miles away.[1] Talon–eye coordination is a hunting imperative.[8] From its perch at the top of trees, the eagle can dive at speeds of 125–200 miles per hour (201–322 km/h) to catch its prey by its talons.[9] The phenomenon of an eagle turning its flexible head almost 270 degrees,[3] while sitting or flying, is attributed to the fact that when its large head is turned fully its eyes are also turned, unlike a human. Eagles, in their young age, cannot locate fish below water as a result of refraction error of the eye, so they compensate by grabbing dead fish floating on the surface. As they grow older, the refraction error naturally rectifies itself and they are able to spot fish below the surface. The fierce look of the eagle is due to the placement of a bony ridge above its eyes, the small amount of bare skin between its eyes, and its sharp beak. The feathers on its body generally do not grow over the eyes.[2] The ridge protects the eyes from protruding tree branches when it perches on trees, and also from prey which struggles to escape.[3] Each eagle eyeball moves separately. The eyeball is so large and so tightly fit that the eagle can barely turn it within the socket called an orbit.[8] That the eyes are located in front of its head with face forward and looking slightly askew is an advantage. Like many predators, eagle eyes both face forward and have overlapping fields of view. This allows for binocular vision with stereopsis that vastly improves depth perception. Though its hearing does not match its visual acuity, mating calls are said to be heard for several miles.[10]
Eagles have upper and lower eyelids, the bottom lid is more mobile and gives the appearance of the eyelid blinking from bottom to top. Inside the eyelids are made up of connective tissue called fibroelastic plate (tarsus) that function to support the outer eyelid and give it shape. Excel for the web looks a lot like the Excel desktop app. However, there are some differences to be aware of. For example, not all file formats are supported, and some features may work differently than the desktop app. This article explains these differences. File formats that are supported in Excel for the web. Excel workbook files (.xlsx). In Microsoft Office Excel 2007, click the Microsoft Office Button, and then click Open. In the File name box, type the Uniform Resource Locator (URL) of the secure Web page that you want to open, and then click Open. Excel web queries are powerful! Web queries are basically like having a web browser built into Excel that attempts to format the content, putting individual pieces of data into separate cells. You can then use Excel formulas (like =A1/B2) to work directly with the data you've downloaded. And you don't have to know anything about perl, cgi, php, javascript, etc.
Getting Started with Sample Excel Web Queries
The example web queries that come with Excel are usually for importing stock quote data into Excel. For more information about using web queries to download Stock Quotes into Excel, take a look at the Excel Stock Quotes Template.
Although importing stock quotes into Excel happened to be the reason I came across Excel web queries, I have since found many other ways to use them.
It is not the web query itself that is the secret that this article is about. Instead, it's the ability to make a DYNAMIC Web Query!
By dynamic, I'm not talking about using 'refresh' to update the data. What I mean is the ability to change the parameters of the web query, such as typing in a new stock symbol into a cell and having the table update automatically.
If you find yourself using the internet to gather data by filling out forms and copying and pasting data over and over, an excel web query might be the solution to your monotonous woes. It's not always going to be better, and it's not always going to work, but it's worth a try, especially since a simple web query could boost your productivity!
Excel Web Query '.iqy' Files
The real key to creating a dynamic excel web query is to create your own '.iqy' file. In it's basic form, the '.iqy' file is simply a TEXT file with three main lines:
You can create the file using a simple text editor! Most text editors will save a new file with the .txt extension, but you can change the extension to .iqy after you create your text file. If it is already a .iqy file and you want to edit it, you may need to right-click on it to select NotePad or WordPad (or some other text editor) to open it.
The third line is the important one! It's simply the URL or web page address. Notice that it contains two parameters. If you don't know what parameters are for, just browse the web for a while and pay attention to what shows up in the address bar of your browser. Go to Google.com for instance, and look up 'excel web query'.
Parameter name / value pairs are listed after the '?' in the URL and are separated by an '&'.
Make the Web Query Dynamic
To make the query dynamic, replace the value of each parameter in the web query file (queryname.iqy) with:

Let's Create a Web Query
- Open up a text editor and copy the Google example. Save the file as GoogleSearch.iqy
- Open up Excel and enter a search term in Cell B3
- Open the web query file you just saved (GoogleSearch.iqy) by double-clicking on the file, or open Excel and go to Data > Existing Connections > Browse for More.
- When prompted for the search term, enter =B3. If that doesn't work, just enter a search term for now.
Play around with the web query options and properties by right-clicking within the query results and selecting Parameters or Data Range Properties or Edit Query.
When you go to Edit Query, you can choose to select a specific portion or table within the page or the entire page (by clicking on one of the yellow arrow boxes in the preview). Then, you can save your new query as a .iqy file and look at what parameters it uses.
When you have the query looking just the way you want it, save the Excel web query (an icon or button for saving the web query is in the 'Edit Query' window. When you save the new query, your '.iqy' file will include the options you have selected.
Other Example Web Queries
Below are a few examples of .iqy files that you might try. Websites often change, or they may change the way their APIs work, so these examples might not work forever.
Example 1: Get historical daily stock prices from Investopedia. Note that the start and end dates are text, so if you are setting up date parameters in Excel, the cells you link to need to be text rather than date values. This query uses 3 parameters: Symbol, StartDate, EndDate.

Become a Web Query Wiz
Take a few minutes to think about what mundane or repetitive tasks YOU do on the internet, particularly cases where you go to the same sites over and over to get data. If you find yourself copying and pasting or re-typing information into Excel so that you can perform calculations with the data, you may have found an ideal use for an excel web query.
There are two main things that you need in order to become a Web Query Wiz.
- A working knowledge of Excel formulas. By this, I mean the ability to use text-manipulation and other formulas. A GREAT book for both learning and reference (and the one that I use all the time) is John Walkenbach's 'Excel Formulas'. If you are an avid Excel user, it will probably be the best investment you will make for a long time! The only problem I have with the book is that I need TWO copies - one for work and one for home.
- A working knowledge of HTML. This is the hard part unless you are a web designer or programmer. About The Twilight Books:
The Twilight series, written by Stephanie Meyer. Introduced in 2005 with the first novel in the series, Twilight, it was immediately met by wide critical and commercial success. Premise
Bella Swan moves to Forks, Washington from Arizona, with her mother and step-father. At school, she begins to pursue a seemingly young boy. Edward Cullen turns out to be a vampire, from a family of vampire that only feed on animal blood. The series contains strong elements of classical horror and fantasy, including werewolves. These human/wolf hybrids are the natural enemies of the more recent vampires, whom they view as destructive and parasitic.
Vampires are organized in family groups known as covens. These groups comprise groups of vampires that all have the same progenitor. Edward Cullen’s coven is unique in that his family only feeds upon the blood of animals, and were all transformed after some devastating life incident. The werewolves of Twilight are organized in a more traditional fashion, with the ability to change being passed down within a family. Other vampire organizations include the Volturi, an Italian coven of vampire introduced in book two, as well as the finale, that act as sort of a governing body for all vampires.
Bella Swan
The main character of the series, she appears in all four novels. Her love for Edward is the main drive of the series, and explored farther and farther in depth in each novel. At the beginning of the series, she is a rather naïve, stubborn and clumsy. She also cares very much for both her family and Edward, and later Jacob Black, and shows true passion for her daughter. Stephanie Meyer write that the character is very pale, and has been described with dark brown hair and eyes, and a heart shaped face.
Edward Cullen
The other main character on the Twilight series, Edward is described as a handsome and youthful vampire with ice-cold, impossibly pale skin, lustrous bronze hair and deep red eyes. He has been described as a modern version of a god-like Adonis. Being 104 years old, his interests are considerably broader than Bella’s, and he has been seen appreciating things from eras as varied as the sixties , thirties and every generation in between. He struggles most with his relationship to Bella, as he sees himself endangering her in
ways that she cannot possibly imagine, and, as with all vampires, she will grow old and die, while he will never age. Extremely sensitive and protective, he acts as a foil to the more stubborn and risk taking Bella, who, being still a teenager, has all the hallmarks and stubbornness of adolescence.

Well I did the test running the MV50 AC thru the Fryette Power Station (ie 2 x 6L6 tubes) using the same 2 x 12 cab and the result was a significant improvement in tone quality. More clarity, sparkle and punch and no loss of the AC chimeAgain I can't A/B this with a real AC15 but I'd be surprised if it didn't sound equally as good.I got no idea what the Vox watt ratings mean in reality but this set up.Pedal board MV50 AC Fryette PS 2 x 12 cab is a true tube 50 watts and sounds plenty good enough to gig imo with providing very good clean head room. After using this MV50 AC for 6 months with different guitars, cabs and pedals I have a few more observations.a) As is noted by some owners on thegearpage forum reviews it sounds much better after 20 minutes as the nutube warms up.b) Choice of cab is very important (as with all heads) and this sounds much better with british style Celestion speakers imo - best with a 2 x 12 or 1 x 12 on 4 ohm. Best with a 12 inch speaker with Celestion creambacks or V30s delivering a full tube 50 watts output with more than enough clean headroom for most gig situations.The 8 inch (8 ohm) cab Vox try to match it with does not do it justice and make it sound boxy imo.c) It pairs well with all pedals I've tried it with. Never A/Bd through the same speakers though so maybe I'd be surprised.The Mini Superbeetle's the only thing I've tried them in, but short of diming the gain (where things do get a bit squidgy), those NuToobs seem to do a great job providing glowing filament vaccuum tube type response in that amp, both in the pre & the trem. Use the 'createinstallmedia' command in Terminal
- Connect the USB flash drive or other volume that you're using for the bootable installer. Make sure that it has at least 12GB of available storage and is formatted as Mac OS Extended.
- Open Terminal, which is in the Utilities folder of your Applications folder.
- Type or paste one of the following commands in Terminal. These assume that the installer is still in your Applications folder, and MyVolume is the name of the USB flash drive or other volume you're using. If it has a different name, replace
MyVolumein these commands with the name of your volume.

Use the bootable installer
After creating the bootable installer, follow these steps to use it:
- Plug the bootable installer into a compatible Mac.
- Use Startup Manager or Startup Disk preferences to select the bootable installer as the startup disk, then start up from it. Your Mac will start up to macOS Recovery.

- A bootable installer doesn't download macOS from the Internet, but it does require the Internet to get information specific to your Mac model, such as firmware updates. If you need to connect to a Wi-Fi network, use the Wi-Fi menu in the menu bar.
- Select Install macOS (or Install OS X) from the Utilities window, then click Continue and follow the onscreen instructions.

1. Open the Visual Studio solution
Open the solution for which you want to create the install package.
2. Add an Advanced Installer Project to the solution
Once the Visual Studio solution is loaded:
- From the “New Project” dialog select Advanced Installer Project
- In the “Solution” field select Add to solution option
- In the “Name” field you can write a name for your project
- Press to add the project to the solution
By default, when adding an Advanced Installer Project, the build output of the solution will not be automatically added to the installer project, to do this you must:
- Go to the “Files and Folders' section of the Installer Project
- Press 'Add Project Output' button
- Select the “Primary Output” and “References”
- Press
The output of each project contained by the solution is automatically synchronized in the Advanced Installer project.
Following these steps, Advanced Installer Extension for Visual Studio adds in the installer project all application references except the Microsoft .NET assemblies.
3. Create the first install package
In Visual Studio select 'Build' > 'Build Solution' option to start the build.
After the build is completed successfully, it will create two main files: HelloWorld.exe which is the output from the C# project and Installer Project.msi which is the installation package.
4. Edit the installer project
Using the Advanced Installer Project viewer, you can edit basic information about your installer like Product Details, Launch Conditions, Install Parameters, and much more..
Let's suppose we have an Enterprise edition of Advanced Installer. C for mac free. By default, the installer project will be created based on a Freeware license. Since we want to use features from the Enterprise edition, like selecting a theme for the installation dialogs, we will need to upgrade our project type:
- Press the button to open your installer project in Advanced Installer
- From the “Project” menu select “Options..”
- Navigate to the Project Type Tab and select Enterprise
- Press the button
Now, that we have an Enterprise project we have full access to all the available Advanced Installer Enterprise features.

- From the right view select the desired theme and variation for your installer dialogs
- Save the project and exit Advanced Installer
Visual Studio will ask you if you want to reload the installer project since it was modified. Press the button.

Cloud fonts are here and the font story for PowerPoint has changed. No longer are we limited to a short list of fonts deemed safe for templates and shared presentations. In my previous post: An update on “safe fonts” for PowerPoint, I explained what safe fonts are and how to avoid font substitution when sharing files with others. That information still applies to folks using older versions of Office. If your company is using PowerPoint 2010, 2013, or 2016, for instance, you’ll want to stick to one of the font families listed at the end of that post. If you have any influence or say in the matter, upgrade to Office 365! The subscription is well worth it for all the new features in PowerPoint, including font availability. Note: Office 2019 is a standalone version and will not get regular updates with new features.
Cloud fonts are available to Office 365 subscribers on all platforms and devices. If you have Office 365, you’ll see them in your font list indicated by a cloud and arrow icon. When you apply one of these fonts PowerPoint downloads it in the background and applies it to your text. When someone views the file with Office 365 or Office 2019, PowerPoint downloads missing fonts from the font service and the file renders the same as it was authored, without embedding. The same is true when the file is opened with the PowerPoint mobile app (Android or iOS) or PowerPoint Online. There are more than 600 cloud fonts currently available, about 650MB in total file size. That’s an impractical amount to store on a mobile device so the cloud service downloads fonts as needed. Yes, you need an internet connection to see the cloud fonts, choose them, or download missing ones – the first time. Downloaded fonts are stored in cache and available to use in other Office apps. The fonts are cached as long as there is space and purged when there is need to save a new font. Because the fonts are cached and not stored in the Windows Fonts folder, you won’t be able to access them in other programs like the Adobe suite, for instance.
Here’s a quick snapshot of how you can use cloud fonts with different Office versions:
Office 365: the sky’s the limit (heh). This is the only version that allows you to select from all cloud fonts and use them to build font themes, templates, and new presentation content. You can embed fonts for other versions.
Office 2019: if someone shares a file that uses cloud fonts, you will be able to view and edit the presentation.
Office 2010, 2013, 2016 for Windows: cloud fonts are not recognized unless they are embedded. The good news is that all cloud fonts are fully embeddable, unlike many fonts purchased from foundries.*
When in doubt, embed cloud fonts. Embedding works well from most recent desktop versions of PowerPoint, including Office 365 and 2019 for Windows and Mac. You can embed cloud fonts for use with older versions of Office for Windows (2010, 2013, 2016) but note that older versions of Office for Mac (2008, 2011) will not recognize embedded fonts.
I’ve compiled a comprehensive guide to help you wade through the list of available cloud fonts. The guide includes an alphabetized index of modern Latin alphabet fonts, a section on symbol fonts, and a list of non-Latin, language-specific fonts and the languages each supports. Some pages are flagged with “new” which indicates the most recent additions to Office fonts. Template designers and builders: the guide includes a legend to help you make decisions for theme body fonts. A green circle indicates that font is well suited for presentation body text. The gold square designates fonts that are okay choices for body text, but there are caveats indicated on each page. Some of these fonts have very thin strokes which may reduce legibility at small sizes. Others include non-lining figures, which means that some of the numerals extend above or below other characters. These characters are not well suited for chart labels or table figures. Other fonts deemed as okay choices may be missing italic or bold styles, which results in machine-bold or slanted text when font styles are applied in PowerPoint. The third legend symbol is a grey outlined circle which indicates those good ole safe fonts, those that are present with most older versions of Office and do not require embedding.

*A few notes regarding custom fonts and embedding: you can choose other fonts, beyond those on the cloud fonts list, for a template or presentation. Be careful doing so, as many fonts cannot be embedded at all. The font foundry or font creator can assign different levels of embeddability and those assigned as non-embeddable or preview/print will not embed in PowerPoint. You can see the font embeddability setting in the Windows Fonts folder. Fonts that are set to editable or installable will embed; this includes both TTF and OTF files. If you choose to embed fonts in your templates and files, test thoroughly on various systems and devices before distribution. Inform everyone who will use the files about the custom fonts and show them how to save their files with embedded fonts. Choose the option to embed all characters to enable full editability. Also note that embedding fonts will increase file size.
